Sony Launches TV with Built in PS2

The PlayStation 3 has been around for quite a while now, but the PS2 still lives on. Sony simply reiterated that fact by unleashing the Bravia KDL-22PX300 which has a 22-inch display and a built in disc slot that plays PlayStation 2 games. Of course, it also plays DVD movies, but as USPs go, playing games will probably turn a few more heads.

Although the TV supports 720p video playback, the PS2 games will not be upscaled, and can be played only in standard definition. The TV also has a bunch of other inputs like four HDMI ports, three USB sockets, PC and component inputs and a SCART socket. It has Ethernet support so viewing sites like YouTube and others will be a breeze and if you buy an additional dongle, this can also be done wirelessly. The TV comes with one PS2 controller.
So now, you can kick back, get out all those PS2 games and relive some good old memories. Of course, this happiness comes at a price - approximately $300 (Rs. 13,533 approx), which is actually a pretty sweet deal. However, it might have been a little sweeter if the TV had a PS3 instead. Sony hasn’t said anything about launching this TV in India yet, but I’m sure there are loads out there who are hopeful.
