It's time you loaded your iPod Touch/iPhone with some of the best games currently available. These range from simple games, which are free, to some great racing and first person shooters. The best thing is that there are demo versions of all these games for you to download and try first. So lets get on with the list.

Asphalt 5 (Paid)

If you've ever owned a Symbian S60 phone then I'm sure you're no stranger to Asphalt. The latest version is Asphalt 5 and its here for the iPod Touch/iPhone. You get the same selection of exotic super cars and get to drive in various locations around the world. The graphics has been tweaked a bit with better modeling done on the cars and the environment. You can also play your favourite tracks from your music collection, thanks to the in-game music player. Gameloft have fixed some minor bugs that were present in the earlier version- like the difficulty in cop chase mode in the new v1.5.5.

Hangman Classic (Free)

Remember playing this game in school on the last pages of your notebook? Now relive those memories with Hangman Classic. The latest version 1.3 adds more words to the list like Fruit's & Vegetables, girls and boys names. A must-have game for your iPod Touch.

Topple 2 Plus (Free)

This great pastime game is now free, giving you the same features as Topple 2. But with the added Plus Network you can now create an online profile.

Bejweled 2 (Paid)

This is by far one of the top most paid apps on iTunes and version 2 adds a brand new game mode called Bejeweld Blitz. This puzzle game may not be to everyone's liking, but if you liked it on the PC, you'll love this version too.
The Deep (Paid)

By far one of the best version of pinball currently available. Forget about the standard style pinball you're used to playing. The Deep features varying camera angles that follow the pinball where ever it goes making it more engaging. It has been updated to version 1.2, which adds a Save/Restore feature and some new themes.

Doom Resurrection (Paid)

Id software's most popular game hits the iPhone giving you the very same creepy and gory experience you had on the PC. In the new v1.1 refresh they've added a new game mode called Challenge mode with 40 unique challenges and a new bonus map.

Yeti Sports Lite (Free)

This is the free version of Yeti Sports which includes  penguin throw. This favourite flash game can now be enjoyed on the go!

Block Breaker Deluxe 2 (Paid)

For just a dollar, this is one of the best versions of Block Breaker released by gameloft. Great graphics, plenty of mayhem, countless rounds of block breaking action at your finger tips!

Auditorium (Paid)

This is a unique and award-winning puzzle game that created waves when it was released as a browser game and now is here on the iPhone/iPod Touch. The goal of the game is to build a harmony by channeling musical notes through different bars to complete the tune. There is also a free version known as Auditorium Lite that lets you play through few of the levels.

Need For Speed : Undercover (Paid)

The PC  version may have sucked big time but the iPhone version is actually good. There is the same cop chase mode, tones of tweaking options and good graphics.

Pocket Tanks (Free)

Pocket tanks is one of those really fun games to pass away the time. It tests your judgment skills as you fire away crazy weapons to take down the tank on the other side of the hill. There's even an option for multiplayer, where you can play with your friend on WiFi.

Metal Gear Solid Touch Lite (Free)

This is the free version that includes some of the levels in the full game. If you're a fan of the MGS series then this is certainly for you.
