Tata DoCoMo 3G Tariff Plans Announced

Tata DoCoMo had launched third-generation GSM telephony services dubbed as 3G Live in India last week. Now, the company has revealed the tariff details for Basic 3G Plans, Data Plans and even Voice+Data plans for consumers in nine Indian circles.
Telecom Talk has put up the tariff plans for TATA DoCoMo's 3G Life services.
Tata Docomo 3G services are available in all the nine circles where it has the 3G license-Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP (West), Punjab, Haryana and Maharashtra-Goa. All plans announced would be effective from November 10 in the aforementioned nine circles. Now let's take a look at different 3G Life plans announced by Tata DoCoMo.
For those who just want to try out 3G Data plans can look out for 3G Data Top-ups which are basic data packs. To begin or experience 3G, one can go for Data Top Up of " Rs. 90 that offers 100MB usage at 21Mbps with a validity of a week. Furthermore if you want to try it out for a month (30 Days) you can go for:
- Rs. 200 Top-up with 200MB usage at 21Mbps
- Rs. 500 Top-up with 650MB usage at 21Mbps
- Rs. 2000 Top-up for unlimited usage at 21Mbps till 15GB of download and then the speed drops to 256Kbps.
Also, a typical Video Call would cost 0.66 paise per second which sums up to almost 0.40 paise per minute. We're sure you'd rather go for video chat over the Internet connection because Video calls over 3G would require more bandwidth. Unless you don't care for the bills, Video calling is going to be a costly affair.
Small Screen Voice and Data Plans:
Meant for 3G supporting smartphones, these plans are available for both Pre-paid and Post-paid Tata DOCOMO subscribers. Check out the plan tariffs below:

- In addition, there is also a plan available only on Prepaid for Rs." 350. This has 500 minutes (Local+STD) and 150 MB of 3G Data
- These minutes can be used for ALL local, STD and outgoing roaming calls-all calls are on a per-second pulse
- The options are designed at various price points to cater to different consumption levels
- The above voice call minutes and 3G Data plans have a validity of 30 days
- Plans available in both Post-paid and Pre-paid, so customers can choose their payment preference

Carefree Internet users who seek blazing fast browsing as well as download speeds without worrying about the bills should take a look at the Unlimited 3G Life Plans.

High Speed 'Unlimited' 3G Data Card Plan for Rs. 2,000 has been announced wherein subscribers would get 15 GB of data usage at a speed of 21.1 Mbps and beyond 15 GB would be free 3G with lower speed of 128 kbps.
Tata DoCoMo certainly is bit costly as compared to the BSNL 3G Plans available today. Now we shall wait for other mobile operators including two telecom stalwarts - Airtel and Vodafone to roll out 3G services and reveal their 3G tariffs in the country.

NEW DELHI: India's financial website Moneycontrol.com was hacked last week, as unknown hackers inserted a malicious code inside the website's pages, making visitors to it vulnerable, US based cyber security firm Websense Security Labs said in its security alerts released on Tuesday.
According to the San Diego based Websense, the main Indian site of Moneycontrol.com was compromised and injected with malicious code on November 6, 2010. The injected code redirected users to an exploit website. "Once a user visited the Moneycontrol.com, the malicious code took the user's browser quietly to an exploit website www.Brenz.pl – in a typical "drive-by" attack. Brenz.pl is an exploit site pre-loaded with an exploit kit called Eleonore," says Websense Labs Senior Researcher Elad Sharf.
Exploit kits contain malicious programs which can be downloaded to infect a particular computer. "A list of exploits are delivered to the user's browser once Brenz.pl is visited and any successful attempt of exploitation results with the user being infected with a Trojan called Virut," Mr Sharf adds. Virut is a file infector that targets .exe and .scr files, extensions used for applications and scripts respectively. The site was cleaned up the next day.
Active injected codes can potentially impact a site's performance. When a website is injected with code that leads to an exploit site, visitors generally experience hanged or slow browsers, and often a a browser crash, as well, says Sharf.
Eleonore on the other hand has potential to exploit common vulnerabilities in applications like Adobe Reader, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.
According to CERT-in, India's Computer Emergency Response Team at Ministry of IT, SQL injection attacks are on the rise. Such an attack is designed to inject an iframe into the website source which will force visitors to download a javascript file, says CERT-in. Many websites have been found infected with such scripts. Dave Whitelegg said that although Facebook is a fun way to keep in touch with friends and family, it can also be dangerous.
"Posting certain photos or information on the site puts you at risk of being fired, a victim of crime, or even worse. There are computer programmes called 'data mining' that sweep Facebook to collect dates of birth, phone numbers, addresses etc. That's gold dust to criminals," the Sun quoted Whitelegg, an IT security expert, as saying.

Here are the 10 things you should never post on Facebook and why:

 

1)

Date and place of birth

This places you at massive risk of identity theft. They are the most commonly used security questions on password resetting sites.

 

2)

Mother's maiden name

A lot of sites use your mother's maiden name to authenticate who you are. They also commonly use the school you went to as a security question.

 

3)

Address

It again puts you at risk from identity fraud, but also from burglars and stalkers.

 

4)

Holidays

If you post an update on Facebook saying: "Can't wait till next Wednesday - two weeks in Miami yeh!" you are basically saying: "Come and rob me."

 

5)

Short trips from home

Again, this can put you at risk of burglary and stalking.

 

6)

Inappropriate photos

Don't post racy, illicit, offensive or incriminating photos. Bosses and prospective employers are increasingly looking at Facebook pages.

 

7)

Confessionals

These can also get you fired or haunt you for the rest of your life. Posting you are skiving work, who you are sleeping with, or doing something shameful is just dumb.

 

8)

Phone number

 

Unless you want to be bombarded with unsolicited phone calls from people trying to sell you something - don't.

9)

Children's names

These can be used by identity fraudsters or, more sinisterly, by paedophiles. It is much easier to steal a child's identity. An adult will eventually discover something is wrong by, for example, their credit rating being affected. Children won't.

 

10)

Don't post a full public profile

 

It won't just exist on Facebook, it will go on any internet search such as Google. Only give the bare bones such as a name. Keep everything else private.
